Tara fitted with Stamoid Smart shade sails for its Pacific expedition

For the past 12 years, Tara Expéditions has been taking concrete action to improve the public's environmental awareness. It organises expeditions to study the impact of climate change and the ecological crisis on our oceans. These research expeditions are carried out in collaboration with prestigious laboratories and scientific institutions.

After more than four years spent navigating around the planet and in the Arctic, followed by a Mediterranean trip in 2014 to analyse plastics pollution, Tara is now sailing the Pacific to study the coral reefs.

During the expeditions, temperatures can be very high and UV radiation very intense. To protect its crew while at anchor, Tara wanted to install shade sails made from Stamoid Smart.
