The Palma Bianca residence, built in La Bocca district in the heart of Cannes, is a residential project that combines comfort, aesthetic appeal and minimal environmental impact.

An architectural project in the heart of La Bocca.

Just a stone's throw from the famous Croisette in Cannes, lies a residential neighborhood: La Bocca. For several years now, this area has been the subject of a vast and ambitious program aimed at providing it with new economic, technological, university and railway infrastructures. In short, La Bocca is a new land of opportunity and growth for the city of Cannes.
This is the site chosen to build the Palma Bianca residence, a perfect example of the district's dynamism and modernization.

The choice of outdoor comfort.

The choice of outdoor comfort.

The Palma Bianca residence is an architectural complex housing more than a hundred apartments. Surrounded by palm trees and green spaces, the buildings have been designed to offer occupants the best possible comfort and to allow them to take advantage of the exceptional sunshine in Cannes. To achieve this, many apartments have been extended with outdoor spaces.

Under the direction of MAP ARCHITECTES, the terraces were equipped with pergolas specially designed and installed by Gaël Richeux of VELARIUM and Yann Le Lann of LE LANN DECO ET STORES. The Soltis Horizon 86 fabric was selected to cover the roofs of these pergolas, 61 in number, spread over the entire residence.

The performance of Soltis Horizon 86 at the service of a modern residential project

The Serge Ferrari Soltis Horizon 86 microperforated fabric was chosen for its transparency and thermal comfort properties. In fact, this membrane provides excellent visual contact to the exterior to enjoy the view even when the pergola fabric is deployed. It is a very efficient fabric that allows up to 28% light transmission while blocking up to 93% of the heat. This is a real advantage over conventional bioclimatic pergolas, which often do not offer retractable roofs but only a rotation of slats. This creates a constant shadow and discomfort in the field of vision that is not found with a microperforated fabric.
In addition, this solution allows a gain of natural light in the residences for a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The visual on the outside is optimal and the greenhouse effect is avoided.
Finally, the Soltis Horizon 86 fabric has excellent UV resistance and is easy to clean, guaranteeing a long-lasting aesthetic for years to come while requiring minimal maintenance for the users of the Palma Bianca residence.
