Project owner: Xergi
Manufacturer: Wiefferink
At the Methelec plant in the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region, Serge Ferrari membranes are used for biogas storage in a post-digester.

Serge Ferrari materials were selected for their durability and performance: a double-skin to contain the raw biogas and a second skin for climate protection. This choice was motivated by the technical expertise of Serge Ferrari and an unrivalled warranty.

Safety first: fire resistance and reduced permeability

Serge Ferrari's biogas range, specially developed for better resistance to the chemical attacks of biogas, offers record durability.

The stable, controlled formulation of this material, combined with specific coating technology, enable high levels of resistance to attacks from fermenting matter

Our membranes used in renewable energy production

The German model provided for the installation of an EPDM-type material. However, this was not suitable due to the low methane loss requirements. The conscientious project owner therefore considered reinforced materials which remain leak-tight after pressurisation.  Following technical discussions concerning the safety factor related to pressurisation, UV resistance and technical support, the Serge Ferrari Advanced 4739 FR Biobrane was identified as the best option.

A word from... Jean Sébastien Lhospitallier
Farmer, investor-operator of Methelec

Thanks to its experience and examination of our project, Serge Ferrari was able to select the right product and mobilise its network to ensure quick, efficient implementation.
Its responsiveness meant that our project was completed within the very tight deadline imposed.
We are very grateful to count Serge Ferrari among our partners and will not hesitate to contact them again for our future projects.
