In December 2021, Milsoms Hotels, a renowned private hospitality group in the UK, embarked on a visionary upgrade to their Dedham Vale property. With the global pandemic changing the landscape of the hospitality industry, Milsoms acted swiftly to provide a safe and stylish outdoor dining solution—ensuring business continuity while elevating their guest experience.
Collaborating with Elite Architectural Awnings, the group commissioned a replacement fabric for their outdoor dining area. The goal: to create a sophisticated, weather-resilient environment that could adapt year-round to sun and rain.
Design and Technical Excellence
The solution needed to meet three critical criteria:
- Aesthetic appeal to match the boutique charm of Milsoms’ venues
- Functional adaptability for year-round use
- Compliance with health & safety guidelines during the Covid-19 era
Flexlight 6002 emerged as the ideal fabric for the structure. Chosen in a soft Vanilla tone, its subtle, embossed surface delivered a refined architectural finish. More importantly, the product is Greenguard-certified, contributing to healthier environments—a key concern in today’s hospitality market.
In a second phase, digitally tailored zip-on window panels were added. This turned the seasonal awning into a fully enclosed, versatile space, usable in all weather conditions.
