In the picturesque town of Ermelo, Netherlands, Telstar Beach sought to transform their hospitality terrace into a year-round haven for guests.
The challenge was to create a space that offers comfort and protection in all weather conditions, without compromising on aesthetics or functionality. The solution was found in the combination of CORNELS’ innovative designs and Serge Ferrari’s high-performance Soltis 96 Proof fabric.
The project, led by CORNELS and executed by their dealer Palmo B.V., involved the installation of an anthracite-colored aluminum terrace canopy with a segmented retractable roof. The terrace, featuring double glass sliding doors, a motorized parapet, and fixed aluminum frame doors, seamlessly integrated with the existing restaurant building, tripling the usable area to an impressive 220 m².
Innovative Solutions
Key to the project’s success was the use of Soltis 96 Proof fabric. This waterproof and translucent material allowed for a retractable roof that provides optimal protection from inclement weather while letting natural light filter through. This combination of features guarantees a comfortable environment for guests, no matter the season.
The new terrace canopy offers Telstar Beach a versatile space for hosting parties, celebrations, and weddings year-round. The translucent roof fabric ensures a bright, naturally lit space that remains cool and comfortable, even on hot summer days. The fabric’s ability to block up to 97% of UV rays adds an extra layer of protection, enhancing guest comfort and safety.
Durability and Aesthetics
Soltis 96 Proof’s durability and UV resistance ensure that the canopy maintains its aesthetic appeal over time. The fabric’s smooth surface resists dirt and mold, making maintenance straightforward and preserving the terrace’s modern look. This long-term durability aligns with Telstar Beach’s goal of creating a sustainable, functional, and visually appealing space for their guests.
The transformation of the terrace has significantly impacted Telstar Beach’s business model. Where previously, turnover was limited to the summer months, the new year-round terrace allows for continuous revenue generation. This additional space offers numerous possibilities for events and gatherings, making it a valuable asset for the restaurant.
