A symbolic project for a district in transformation
The Zone d’Aménagement Concerté (ZAC) Ivry Confluences is an ambitious urban development project located in Ivry-sur-Seine, at the gates of Paris. This large-scale operation aims to transform a vast area of 146 hectares, made up of industrial wastelands and old residential buildings, into a new mixed-use neighborhood with new housing, public educational and sports facilities, as well as various shops and office spaces. The goal is to create a dynamic new development hub on the banks of the Seine, both economically attractive and improving quality of life for all.
In this context, the architectural project of two office buildings with a total surface of 50,000 m² represents a major milestone in the creation of the ZAC. Designed by the PCA-STREAM agency, led by Philippe Chiambaretta, the program was launched in 2022 and is scheduled for delivery in 2026. It reflects Ivry-sur-Seine’s commitment to sustainable urbanization, respectful of the site’s historical heritage while being resolutely future-oriented.
Contemporary architecture rooted in heritage
The development project is structured around two pre-existing buildings with respective surfaces of 20,000 m² and 30,000 m², each built on 8 levels. The industrial aesthetic of the original structure is preserved and enhanced through the use of brick façades. The architecture is characterized by nine irregular vaults crowning the whole, and by large openings that maximize natural light.
The project also stands out for its wide range of uses: 6 floors of offices, an auditorium, a medical center, collaborative and dining spaces, as well as large landscaped areas and terraces designed for the comfort of employees. Environmental concerns are at the forefront, with designers targeting numerous labels and certifications to attest to the quality and performance of the buildings.
A Soltis Loop Sunmate solution for comfort and performance
In this context, indoor comfort and natural light management were key needs requiring reliable, efficient, and environmentally responsible solar protection solutions, as the project targets the highest certifications (HQE, BREEAM, Effinergie BBC, E+C, etc.).
The choice was then obvious: Soltis Loop Sunmate in silver color, the first generation of interior solar protection fabric made from 100% recycled materials. Soltis Loop Sunmate has a reduced environmental impact thanks to the integration of 100% recycled polymers and 100% recycled polyester yarns, sourced from post-consumer wastes.
Soltis Loop Sunmate filters light to reduce glare and blocks up to 91% of solar heat, thus contributing to both visual and thermal comfort for occupants throughout the day. The manufacturing and installation of the blinds in this 6-story office building by Soliso required more than 11,000 m² of Soltis Loop Sunmate fabric.
