ABOUT

Set in one of New York’s most iconic skyscrapers is the headquarters of investment firm Corsair, which features a stretch ceiling solution in Serge Ferrari Group’s Tenseo Frontside 381. Designed and manufactured by the French company Newmat, these ceiling panels bring a refined aesthetic to this elegant, yet comfortable office space.

An interior design project in an iconic building

Located in the heart of Manhattan, 550 Madison is an architectural beacon in the New York skyline. Inaugurated in 1984, this post-modern skyscraper — a national landmark since 2018 — is immediately recognisable by its pink granite exterior cladding and monumental, 116-foot-high entrance portal. The top of the tower is crowned by a structure-wide pediment inspired by classical architecture and pierced through by a surprising circular opening. Rising just shy of 650 feet, the building features unusually high ceilings offering spacious and airy workspaces.

This prestigious building is where Corsair chose to set up its headquarters, underscoring its public image and high standards for its collaborators.

A Tenseo Frontside 381 stretch ceiling solution

To deliver the design’s vision, Newmat — a company based in Northern France — designed bespoke stretch ceilings incorporating Serge Ferrari Group’s Tenseo Frontside 381 membrane. Usually reserved for exterior cladding due to its shading properties, Tenseo Frontside 381 is also recognised for its capacity to elevate the overall aesthetics of architectural projects. The warm Cinnamon finish chosen for this project integrates seamlessly with the interior design, subtly highlighting the company’s business and identity, and bringing a touch of refinement to this harmonious and sophisticated space.

In total, 1,215 square feet of Tenseo Frontside 381, assembled on rounded-corner rectangular aluminium frames, were used to complete this beautiful modern interior design. The result combines efficiency with aesthetics, to enhance the project’s overall luxe feel.

This project is yet another example demonstrating Serge Ferrari Group’s synergy with its partners. As an expert in the design and installation of stretch ceilings, Newmat was able to draw on Tenseo Frontside 381’s full potential to raise this exceptional workspace to new heights.
