Ambhora bridge sky gallery’s TX30 II Canopy

ABOUT

Serge Ferrari Group has participated in the construction of the Sky Gallery, at the top of the Ambhora bridge, in central India.

A New landmark project

Located in the State of Maharashtra, India, the Ambhora Bridge is a new vehicular connection linking the Bhandara and Nagpur districts. Spanning 705 metres in length, the new infrastructure considerably facilitates journeys between local communities on either side of the Wainganga river.

Designed by architect Ashfaque Ahmed, the cable-stayed Ambhora Bridge is the first engineering project of its kind in Maharashtra. The design features one colossal central pylon and four secondary pylons, from which the deck is suspended using oblique cables to redistribute loads and ensure the balance of the overall structure.

The project has also received much attention because of its Sky Gallery, which sits atop the central pylon. Rising 40 metres above the water, it provides unparalleled panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This distinctive feature, associated with bright, colourful night lighting, have both contributed to making this bridge a must-see destination for tourists in the region.

TX30 II and TX30 II Opaque for the Ambhora bridge sky gallery

The gallery at the top of the Ambhora Bridge is a vast open-air space accessible via lifts, and sheltered under a canopy of Serge Ferrari Group’s TX30 II and TX30 II Opaque membranes. These materials were selected for their exceptional strength and durability, both essential qualities for the construction of challenging projects in harsh climates.
