Hotel Casa Santo Domingo expands with a conference center in Tenseo Advanced 1002 S2
ABOUT
Antigua Guatemala was founded by the Spaniards in the 16th century, and was for many years the cultural, political and religious capital of the Hispanic crown territories in Central America. At an altitude of 1,500 meters, it boasts a striking natural backdrop, including three active volcanoes.
A hotel in a historic city
The region’s seismic activity is the reason why, at the end of the 18th century, the capital was moved further east, to present-day Guatemala City. From its colonial period, the city retains a rich civil and religious heritage, its cobbled roads and its original urban plan. Some of its buildings, marked by the Spanish Baroque style, as well as numerous ruins, were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
Antigua Guatemala is home to the Casa Santo Domingo hotel complex, which recently added a convention center.
