Tucked away in a stunning natural location in South Belgium bordering on the Ardennes forest, an old fisherman’s cabin has been expanded and updated to create a home that blends in seamlessly with its surroundings. The idyllic property has also been further developed to include an outdoor pool just off the patio. And to protect it, the owners have chosen a roll-out cover manufactured from Serge Ferrari’s Protect Cover 705 membrane.

Protect Cover 705: up to nature’s challenges

The owners wanted their pool to be protected by a high-performance cover that would be resistant to the sun in the summer, the strong winds of the autumn, and the snow in the winter. In addition to these trying climatic conditions, the material also had to keep the water clean of leaves from the trees that surround the property.
These are the reasons why they sought the expertise of Coverseal, a Belgium-based company established in 2007 which specializes in designing and installing high-performance pool covers that met all of the family’s needs.

Protect Cover 705, a sleek and effective solution

For this project, Coverseal opted for Protect Cover 705, which offers two main advantages: dimensional stability and high resistance thanks to Serge Ferrari’s Précontraint technology. Associated with Coverseal’s locking system, the fabric is able to deliver complete safety and effectively prevent any risk in case someone falls into the pool while the cover is on.
In addition to Protect Cover 705’s qualities to ensure a safe pool, waterproofing was another decisive factor for the manufacturer. The insulation provided by the material helps limit the development of algae by preventing photosynthesis. It also reduces the quantity of chlorine needed to keep the water clear, especially important for a pool with southern exposure.
The pool cover’s durability guaranteed by the fabric’s high resistance was a considerable advantage for this project. But the choice of material was also made based on aesthetic criteria. With its elegant and sleek design, the cover blends in perfectly with the natural surroundings, and contributes to elevating the patio into an ideal exterior space.
