A Soltis 88 terrace designed for year-round comfort
Serge Ferrari Group brings comfort and solar protection to a restaurant in the Czech Republic with Soltis 88 Proof.
A terrace designed for everyday use
In the Czech Republic, Nad Hladinkou Restaurant is one of the most vibrant destinations in the Bystrc district of Brno, in the southeast of the country. Located near the Brno–Vienna cycling route, one of the region’s main cycling tourism trails, and close to the Brno Reservoir, a popular leisure and recreational area, the restaurant attracts families, sports enthusiasts, and visitors looking to relax.
To maximize the use of their terrace, the owners wanted an outdoor space that could be enjoyed throughout the year. Their goal was to create an attractive design that blended seamlessly with its surroundings while ensuring comfort and well-being for both guests and staff, regardless of the weather conditions.
A project combining protection, visual Identity, and durability
The project involved covering and protecting an outdoor garden area stretching more than 30 meters in length while creating a cohesive and harmonious aesthetic. The installation needed to provide effective protection against sun, wind, and light rain in order to ensure maximum comfort. Designed as a natural extension of the restaurant, the space was intended to accommodate both daytime dining services and evening receptions and events. Finally, the selected solution had to meet a key requirement of the hospitality sector: delivering long-term reliability and performance.
Soltis 88 Proof Fabric for lasting comfort
To meet these requirements and enhance the restaurant’s terrace, a pergola fitted with Soltis 88 Proof membrane was installed. This Serge Ferrari Group solution was chosen for its ability to provide effective solar protection while offering excellent resistance to weather conditions. Thanks to its waterproof properties and outstanding UV resistance, the membrane ensures a comfortable environment for users of the outdoor space while guaranteeing the longevity of the installation.
What makes this project stand out?
The project was entered into the competition organized by the SPST (Professional Association of Solar Shading Technologies of the Czech Republic) and received an award in the 2025 Best Project of the Year competition in the field of shading technologies.
