Serge Ferrari Group has contributed to the development of a project named Space Drops, a one-of-a-kind event venue designed to meet the new needs of the entertainment industry.

A novel concept for the event Industry

As the event sector emerges into the post-Covid world, its success now hinges on its capacity to address a range of challenges: the environmental crisis, logistics and participant safety. With this new context in mind, Nikita Marshunok — Founder among other projects of Kazantip, the Eastern European version of Burning Man — has drawn from the knowledge of the event industry gained by his team to address what he has identified as a strong demand for dismantlable, high mobility, reusable and innovative covered event venues. Building on this, his team have imagined and proposed original and pioneering designs with a futuristic edge. The idea was to provide event professionals with an inventive and unique solution that would be robust and reliable. And so, Space Drops was born.

A functional, yet creative project

A functional, yet creative project

The international team led by Nikita Marshunok has built on their 20 years’ experience in the event industry to design a mobile structure named Space Drops® TR-300. Combining a science fiction-inspired aesthetic with a highly organic shape, this ultra mobile structure offers a completely enclosed space capable of hosting a wide variety of events.

An event venue enveloped in Serge Ferrari membrane

The design of Space Drops® TR-300 has drawn from the latest technology and high-quality materials to ensure the structure’s resistance and durability. Two of Serge Ferrari Group’s products — Flexlight Lodge 6002 and Flexlight 702 Opaque — were selected to create two units of the design. The first uses a Flexlight Lodge 6002 membrane in opaque: a waterproof and fire-retardant fabric, characterised by a phthalate-free composition and Greenguard Gold certification, ensuring optimal safety. In its opaque version, the material minimizes permeability to UV rays to maintain thermal comfort for participants inside the structure.

The second unit was manufactured using Flexlight 702 Opaque, which was developed to build structures in very harsh environments.

With 2,100 sqm of fabric for each structure, these two technical membranes lend themselves to the most inventive and surprising shapes, particularly for the event industry, while also delivering unparalleled durability and mechanical strength.
